The Challenge
In 2019, this institute embarked on a journey to transition their entire technology department into Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). The challenge was to align leadership around value, restructure teams into cross-functional units, and navigate the complexities of implementing SAFe across the organization. What made the job harder is the earlier failed attempt to transition into SAFe.
Our Approach
As an agile transformation consultant, we facilitated leadership workshops to help them organize around value streams and defined the structure for cross-functional teams. We provided comprehensive SAFe training to leadership, developers, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners. We followed the SAFe roadmap and guided the organization through their first Program Increment (PI). We also coached teams and trained Release Train Engineers to ensure smooth implementation and execution.
Results
The agile transformation at this client spanned from 2019 to 2021 and yielded remarkable outcomes. The organization achieved improved alignment, faster time-to-market, and enhanced collaboration among teams. Leadership embraced a value-driven mindset, leading to increased customer satisfaction and innovation. All trainees successfully passed the required SAFe certifications, showcasing their newfound proficiency in scaled agile practices. The organization successfully ran their first PI and the practice is still ongoing
